Microgaming Untamed in March with Crowned Eagle

Posted on 02/07/2014 by Em
Untamed by Microgaming

In March, Microgaming launches Crowned Eagle as the newest addition to its popular Untamed series.

Untamed slot machinesMicrogaming Untamed

Untamed by Microgaming is a series of online slot machines that focus on a specific wild animal and feature photorealistic graphics and authentic sounds. The series currently consists of Untamed — Bengal Tiger, Untamed — Giant Panda and Untamed — Wolf Pack. These machines all use Microgaming’s highly popular 243-way format, which essentially has 234 active bet lines each spin.

243 Ways

With basic video slots, players opt for the number of active pay lines by choosing the number of coins in play. That format can lead to unnecessary complexity, so land-based casinos began tinkering with the idea of providing players with a bunch of lines, or ways to win, that were automatically active, and they offset that advantage with a built-in bet multiplier. When the format became successful, Microgaming followed suit and opted for a 30 bet multiplier, which means that if a player chooses a one-cent coin, then the total wager per spin will be $0.30.

Crowned Eagle

The Untamed slot machines aren’t the same. Although they do all follow that 243-way format, they also each bring a unique configuration to the table. In the case of Crowned Eagle, the available features are Collect-a-Wild, Lucky Nudge, Your Gamble and Soaring Wilds, which Microgaming developed from scratch specifically for this machine.

Collect-a-Wild, Lucky Nudge and Your Gamble all appear on other Microgaming machines. Your Gamble is like the gamble feature on most slot machines; after a win, the machine offers a 50-50 chance to enhance the winnings. Your Gamble differentiates itself by giving the player 20 opportunities and no upper limit. Lucky Nudge is similar to the classic nudge feature, and Collect-a-Wild is an on-the-reels bonus game that can pay out more than 1.8 million credits.

Soaring Wilds

In Untamed — Crowned Eagle, free spins are awarded by getting three scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. During free spins, the soaring wild is active, and it randomly soars across the screen turning one or more symbols wild. The Soaring Wild can turn multiple ways into winners, and since each soared wild has a built-in win multiplier, the jackpot potential is even higher than on a standard spin.

The UK is Rolling Out New Online Gambling Regulations

Posted on 11/29/2013 by Em
Blackjack online

Online gamblingThe government is always going to stick its fingers into the mix when money is involved and the world of online gambling is no different. In the British Isles, the government is moving forward to initiate new regulations for online gambling establishments based in the UK. It all boils down to taxes. Revenue is essential for governing bodies and an attempt is being made to gain jurisdictional control. The online gambling establishment is not pleased with the proposed changes.
Make Way for the Gambling Licensing and Advertising Bill
The new legislation has been passed by the House of Commons. In essence, the bill means more money for the government.Any online casino or gambling establishment that is based in the UK will be required to obtain a license that will be provided courtesy of the UK Gambling Commission. However, it should be noted that the bill still needs to make its way through the House of Lords in order to take effect by May of 2014. Online gambling operators have high hopes that evidence will be produced in opposition to the proposed legislation.

The Remote Gambling Association Says the Stakes are Too High
Should the bill be passed, a fifteen percent consumption tax would be imposed. The Remote Gambling Association believes this amount is too much of a burden and is negotiating for a ten percent consumption tax. The government’s response has not been favorable, stating the tax should be established for a one year trial period. Modifications could be made after that point if deemed necessary. Members of the Remote Gambling Association fear that the new taxes will have such a detrimental impact that online gambling establishments will not be able to remain in business. Time will only tell as to the final outcome. Industry insiders believe gamblers and online casinos will find a way around the new regulations, blocking the governments efforts to raise revenue. A spirit of cooperation would be more beneficial for all parties involved in order to come to an acceptable agreement on both sides of the table.

The Platin Casino is Making a Splash

Posted on 11/23/2013 by Em
online gambling

The Platin Casino is relatively new in the world of online gambling, making its arrival on the scene less than one year ago. However, it looks like this gambling platform is here to stay. Thanks to an exciting assortment of games, great rewards, and the ability to reach out to many different nationalities, this is definitely a hot spot.

The Platin Has Gone Czech
The Platin Casino has just turned up the excitement a notch by broadening its horizons. The customer comes first and the way that this casino stands above the rest Czech is by excellent service. In addition to providing helpful representatives at any time there is a need, the Platin has expanded its services by providing staff members who actually speak Czech. This means breaking down the barriers for another region of the world, opening up online gambling and providing easier access for the action.

The Platin Knows What’s Sizzling
First rate customer service is not the only advantage that comes with the Platin Casino. It is the eclectic selection of games that is bringing more and more players in on a regular basis. Participants can always dabble in the classics, like poker, roulette, blackjack, and craps. Other attractions include HD games in 3D from the creators at Sheriff Gaming and FULL HD games that are courtesy of Merkur Gauselman. One of the greatest attractions that keep gamblers coming back is the concept of a risk ladder in many of the games. The risk ladder means the stakes are higher as playing continues. However, there is always the incentive of greater rewards that makes the games even more enticing.

The Loyalty Rewards Program is a Major Plus
The Platin Casino has figured out the whole package. It’s all about great gaming opportunities, excellence in service, and a loyalty rewards program that will keep players coming back for more. When players engage in online gambling with real cash at the Platin, they’ll always earn loyalty reward points. Win or lose, they’ll walk away with points that can eventually be cashed in for actual money.

Las Vegas Casinos and Hotels Turn to Loyalty Programs

Posted on 10/24/2013 by Rob

Casinos began using reward programs years before other companies saw the benefits associated with those programs. Casino loyalty programs typically reward players for spending money in hotels and casinos owned by the parent company. Players who spent more could earn free nights at a hotel or resort and free money to use on the floor, while players who spent less could still earn free drinks and meals. With theLas Vegas Casino newest forms of loyalty programs, casinos hope to entice customers who spend money in traditional casinos and online casinos.

MGM Resorts International started MyVegas as a way to grab the attention of players who typically play online. Players can earn points and rewards even if they never visited Las Vegas before. The free games are available on the MyVegas website and as apps that players can use on Facebook. With every game they play, they earn rewards that they can use at hotels and casinos in Las Vegas owned by MGM. Online players can also earn rewards playing other games.

Las Vegas is home to a number of landmarks that people travel hours and thousands of miles to see in person, and many of those landmark hotels and casinos now have reward programs available for visitors and guests. The Cosmopolitan runs a special deal that members can use when the book a room. The hotel will give them one night free or charge. The Palazzo and Venetian both offer other types of rewards for people who visit Las Vegas in person.

Though Las Vegas remains one of the top cities in the world for gamblers, companies noticed that visitors spent more money on local attractions and hotels than they did on the casino floors. The days of people spending thousands on a single hand of blackjack are a thing of the past, and many guests would rather head to a concert, live show, golf course or spa. By giving away free perks and rewards, those casinos can bring players back to the casinos.

Since introducing these new reward programs, Las Vegas casinos saw their revenue increase by more than 15 percent. Several big name casinos partnered with travel companies, letting gamblers earn additional points when they fly, take cruises and stay in hotels in other cities. With the success of reward programs offered by Las Vegas hotels and casinos, it’s likely that this will remain a top destination for travelers and gamblers.

Facebook Takes a Gamble on Paddy Power

Posted on 08/02/2013 by Rob

Ask any risk taker what the next best thing about gambling is other than winning the pot and they’ll tell you it’s the social aspect of the game.  From World Series players to weekly, cigar-chomping meetings of old college friends to sitting shoulder to shoulder at the track, gambling certainly is a social activity—it always has been and always will.  That’s why it makes sense that the king of social media, Facebook, is finally getting dealt in.

real-money-gambling-coming-to-facebook

First Real Gambling App on Facebook

Facebook’s foray into the world of gambling is hedging its bets on the luck of the Irish.  The Paddy Power Bookmaker Sports app is set to launch and comes from Irish roots.  The app is called Paddy Power In-Play! and allows users to bet and win real money.  The bookmaking app is specifically geared towards sports betting, but what it means for online gambling in the long run is far more important.

This release provides a stepping stone for other apps to take foothold of.  It’s expected that this foundation will supply the means by which other betting companies and businesses build their online social empire.

Currently, Paddy Power In-Play! is being test-run in the United Kingdom, a market that was specifically chosen by the makers of the Paddy Power app for the trial launch.  This is because laws and regulations on gambling are much more lax in the UK as compared to the United States and most of Europe.

Tapping into the Market of the Future

The hopes here is that by launching the app in England, the results will be better than in a country with stricter gambling laws and regulations.  This success should pave the way for the app to be launched in larger gambling markets like the US and Europe.  Overall, the movement towards online gambling is already set in motion and this marks a new high water mark in the effort.

Of course, this isn’t Facebook’s maiden voyage with gambling apps—only its first attempt with real money involved.  Facebook took some heat one year ago when they introduced virtual currency that let users—even young users—gamble on apps.  Of course, you actually paid for these virtual money chips, but there were no winnings that actually paid out—until now.

Always Bet on 18

Still, this isn’t the Wild West and online casinos must uphold the strong age regulations that brick and mortar casinos are subject to.  This means that the Paddy Power app will have strict checks and guidelines to ensure that anyone playing along at home is definitely over the age of 18.
